Apple, an American based smartphone, partnership with Tata group owned consumer electronics chain Croma opened stores in India. It has been selling its brand Apple phones from the stores to Indian customers. It understood that Samsung smartphones have more visible and selling lot in the stores. Apple came with new strategy that opening shops in shop. The Apple-Samsung war is intensifying in India, with both tech giants vying for more visibility and retail space.

Apple planned to occupy certain space of Croma for apple products only. it has idea to design, furniture, fixtures and lighting will the same as that used in Apple stores globally and the sales staff will also be trained by the company

Infiniti Retail’s electronic retail chain Croma has become the latest battleground, with Apple opening its 500 sq ft shop-in-shop format at Croma, forcing Samsung to re-negotiate with Croma for providing better visibility.

Threatened by the Apple shop-in-shops, Samsung is planning to increase its investments on marketing spends and better visibility at retail outlets and is in discussion with Croma for this. The company has raised concern over its brand image getting impacted and marginal impact in sales in the five Croma stores having the Apple shop-in-shops, sources said.

While 40% (value) of Croma’s revenue comes from sales of Samsung products, Apple contributes around 25% (value) to sales of Croma, say Croma officials. source: Financial Express

A senior official from Samsung told FE, “There has been some impact on our sales because of Apple having better visibility in Croma stores. Apple is paying higher for the shop-in-shop format, as they have taken a larger space. But we also have plans to increase our spends on marketing, promotions and for better visibility at retail outlets.” He, however, did not share details of the investment.

A Samsung spokesperson wrote in an email in response to a query, “Samsung remains committed to making people’s lives better by introducing innovative products, and through better consumer experiences. We have a retail footprint of 1.5 lakh point of sales across the country, and we work closely with all our partners to bring the best experience to our consumers.” Samsung and Apple compete mainly in the premium segment. In calendar year 2015, India shipped approximately 97 million smartphones, of which 3.4% were phones costing above Rs 30,000. While Samsung had 46.1% market share (volumes) in the premium category in 2015, Apple’s market share (volume) was 43.8% last year, according to CyberMedia Research data. The total smartphones sold by Samsung were 25 million, whereas Apple sold 2 million phones. source: Financial Express

Sources also told FE that Croma had shelved plans of opening an Apple store at the Oberoi Mall in Mumbai for the time being after Samsung expressed concern. One reason could be that sales of Apple have not been up to Croma’s expectations. “Sales of Apple products are far below expectations, but we hope they would pick up in the future,” said a Croma official. Avijit Maitra, chief executive officer, Infiniti Retail, however, said that all is well between Samsung and Croma and the company will add two more Apple outlets by the end of this year. source: Financial Express

We all know how real GDP(Gross Domestic Product) calculated, it is compare value of a product with other product value. For example, an ounce of gold purchasing power of certain number of gallon of petrol. If gold demand increases or decreases in upcoming years, it reflect in changes in number of gallon of petrol getting or vice versa.

India on Wednesday March 23, 2016 began supplying electricity to Bangladesh in return for internet bandwidth that will help connect its North- Eastern states, a move that Prime Minister Narendra Modi described as historic. Instead selling in domestic or international currencies, both countries are exchanging needed products. Its reminding our ancient forefathers did.

Our Northern Indians states benefited from Internet bandwidth. Its appreciating strategic move to enable northern eastern state in connection with internet world. India will supply 100 megawatt of electricity in return for 10 gigabits per second internet bandwidth.

Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina launched the twin links through video conference. Modi said that In my opinion this is an historic occasion and as he nudged Dhaka to join the space cooperation with India. India, he said, is marching shoulder-to-shoulder with Bangladesh in its progress and today is the opening of a new chapter. “In an era of inter-dependent world, the two nations have further strengthened their ties,” he said. Hasina said: “The relation between the countries has further consolidated through the supply of power and Internet bandwidth.”

As much as 100 MW of power will be supplied to Bangladesh from Tripura. PowerGrid Corporation of India Ltd has erected 400 KV d/c line from Suryamaninagar (Agartala) to the Indian border while its Bangladeshi counterpart, PowerGrid Corporation of Bangladesh Ltd has laid a line from there to Comilla.

Simultaneously, a new gateway to give broadband connectivity to North-East states via Bangladesh was also opened.

In the row of controversial sequences, current one is Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students arrested inside the campus. Last week of Jan, 2016, JNU students began an indefinite hunger strike in the campus and demanded justice for alleged suicide of Dalit Research Scholar Rohith Vemula. On another night, JNU student’s union president Kanhaiya Kumar organized students protest inside the campus and raised slogans against government atrocities, discrepancies and Judgement on parliament attack convict Afzal guru. It created fire on the controversy.

Next day, Opposition group Akhil Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishad ABVP taken the matter seriously and counter protested students acts of last night and their controversial slogans in the campus. Later, they went along with parliament member Maheish Girri police station and filed sedition case against the president Kanhiya Kumar and others. Then Police arrested the president inside the campus which added fuel against the matter further.

At Same time, News reached in Media. It spread over the nation and touched common people emotion. People started to criticize the students through social media and some of them shown sympathy over students. News channels increased their TRP by periodically flashed video that slogans against India. Massive debates happened in TV news channels. Politicians taken their matter and criticized each other. Ruling and Opposition leaders took the matter into parliamentary discussion. It faded intolerance issue and given birth to patriotism. Kanhaiya Kumar is brutally attacked by lawyers while he was producing to the court and Many more incidents happened.

Important part of issue is students are against patriotism and shown them as anti-nationalist. Actually JNU Students shown contempt over the issue but, not raised against our nation. Recent video released by various sources clearly prove that. Bitter truth is they voiced for Afzal Guru. It doesn’t mean that the students are not patriotic. Afzal guru was Kashmiri and convicted for the parliament attack. No sources proved that he is involved in the attack but hanged him due to judgment stated that “Based on common sense of Indian”.

Moreover, a controversial video shows that actually some ABVP students were raised slogans and made the issue big. Whatever it is, if anything happen inside the college campus, it should go under university administration investigation and they take prompted action. Not by Right wings or MP.

WILL OIL PRICE GO UP?

One of the important essential of the world economy is oil. When the world economy restructured after major recession on 2008, oil price sharply increased in the market from 2009 to last quarter of 2014 and it sold at more than $100 per barrel and touched peak $147. According to data from U.S. Energy Information Administration, Short-Term Energy Outlook, December 2014. In the beginning of 2009, oil production and consumption was 84 and 82 million barrel per day respectively. Both reached 92 million barrel per day at the end of 2014 worldwide.

Demand consistently increases from US, European, China and other developing countries to develop the nation economy in the globalization and competitive environment. Oil is necessary for transportation and power generation. Huge demand of oil in the market paved way to explore more oils in worldwide. Major importers like USA and Russia started to utilize oil from their region. It cause production of surplus oil in the world market and minimized its price promptly.

OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum exporting countries) is major exporter of oil to the world and it has market share of around 42% of total production. It members includes Saudi, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, UAE etc. The price fall affected the revenue of OPEC members. Countries like Saudi mostly belongs to oil trade are under tremendous pressure. Saudi’s budget deficit grown bigger and forced to issue bonds with maturities over 12 months for the first time in eight years.

OPEC members especially Iran urged to bring down oil production to upsurge oil price. When all OPEC members consider it, But Saudi refused. It has reason that it lost largest exporter tag to Iran on 1985 when followed similar decision during oil price down. Additionally, Iran is expected to increase its output by hundreds of thousand barrels a day this year if international sanctions on the country are lifted.

Moreover, Sunni dominated Saudi kingdom has cold relationship with Shite dominated Iran over long time. It peaked when Saudi executed 47 people including Shiite cleric leader Nimr al-nimr on January 2, 2016. It led to violent broken out and protesters attacked Saudi’s embassy at Tehran. Saudi enraged and led to break bilateral relations with Iran. Saudi ordered Iran’s officials to evacuate the country within 48 hours.

If Current scenario leads to war; it has high chance of increasing oil price. When both major exporters in trouble, Oil price may touch historic high.
