There is a confusion in my mind whether Reservation in government jobs & institution is meant for the needy or the powerful. Its not that I am not aware of the Constitution of India or the SC, ST & OBC communities in India. This confusion developed or a period of time when I see the Patel in Gujarat & Jats in Haryana raise the demand for reservation irrespective of the fact that they are the most powerful community in there respective states. A pattern has emerged where it can be seen that the powerful & dominant make use of the force and blackmail the government to enforce there will on the government. This somehow shows that the dominant community can get the reservation which is actually meant for the needy & backwards. As per the Constitution of India reservation should be provided whenever there is a case of social , economic & physical disability imposed upon the community. If we analyse the case of JAT & Patel reservation we cannot see any logic behind there reservation. We can see from the recent protest by JAT community in the state of Haryana which took an ugly turn forced the state government to concede to their demand of inclusion in the OBC category quota. There was a complete anarchy during the protest, loss of innocent lives , loss of property & Haryana which was once seen as an industrial friendly destination is in the bad light. And now there is fear of polarisation among caste lines & backlash from other communities. So, people should ponder upon the fact whether they have actually gained or lost a lot due to this protest. All this affirms once again that the Constitution should be the guiding light for Indian rather than the irrational thoughts that prevail in our society.
