It is a matter of grave concern that instead of playing a constructive role the current opposition is bent on just playing politics on one or another issue. Even the most important reforms like GST are pending just because of irrational opposition by the opposition parties. The role of opposition is to make sure that government functions in the right direction & be inclusive. But now a days they want to make sure that the government is shown in a bad light to score political point keeping aside important issues of public concern at stake. The current budget session has started with heated arguments over recent happenings but there is a difference between discussion & disruptions. Opposition can discuss any issue whether “Rohith Vemula Death”or the “JNU row” but it seems that the opposition do not have the right intention to discuss the result is that the common man is suffering the most . As per the experts GST can add “2%”to our GDP growth rate , major FDI is waiting for the passage of GST which we will signal that the government is following its reform agenda. But even after the knowledge that this much is at stake the opposition parties are in no mood to rise above the petty politics and work for the greater good of the nation. So , I sincerely request the opposition parties to think of the nation first then party because Democracy means government for the people, with the people , by the people & “not opposition for the people”.
