Electric Cars: Future of Automobile Industry

Most cars will be electric in the near future. Why? 2 reasons: because electric cars are way more economical than any other car, and also because they are multi fuel.
The neat factor concerning electricity is that just about any combustible fuel can be converted to electricity with efficiency. Electricity can be made in numerous ways. Solar panels, wind energy etc are to name a few. We don’t have to decide now what is that “right” technology. Indeed, the solution can possible be a mixture of the above, combined with some quantity of fossil fuels, depending on where we are generating power.
Even if we place thousands of solar panels on our roofs, establish windmills wherever possible, built tide-powered generators, or clean nuclear energy plants still we won’t cut back our dependence on oil by one drop unless we will use electricity to power cars.We don’t use oil to generate electricity, thus all those cool electric generating technologies don’t offset our oil consumption. The fact is that overwhelming majority of our oil consumption is employed for transportation.
So what’s wrong with electrical cars? Why not start using them? Currently except for the recharging limitations electric cars looks like the future of automobile industry. some of the proposed solutions to overcome the charging limitations include: quick charging, battery pack swapping and a powered auxiliary generator. But all of these has very significant technical problems. Another alternative suggestion was to increase the driving range. As of today this is not possible. Currently Tesla cars have 250 miles range. This is the maximum that lithium ion type batteries can offer at the moment. But the good news is the capacity of these batteries are steadily increasing by 8% every year. Also there are hints of breakthrough technologies.
Electric cars are similar to your mobile phones. Once the driving range is enough to make it through the day, then it needs to be charged only when one is sleeping. The Tesla Roadster is like that already for many folks, except after we wish to require an extended road trip. With a five hundred mile range, even road trips can be covered.
