Whenever there is an event to happen, there is a buzz around it. Usually it is observed that views about the event is bifurcated. First section describes the view of those people who appreciate the efforts put in by the organizing committee and the second section shows the view of critics, who are always able to find a loophole in the series of actions taken to make an event a big hit.

Purvodaya is the B-school fest of VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur which signifies ‘Rise of East‘. In real sense, this is one of the major event among the B-schools like a shining star in the east. The tagline of Purvodaya, ‘It Rises Here’ (#ItRisesHere), is derived as a fusion of both the literal meaning and the reality because both complement each other.

Purvodaya’16, a three days event, will be organized in the month of February, 2016. The exact dates are from 5th till 7th in Feb. This time it is getting even bigger as there are twenty events to be held while total prizes at stake worth more than INR 5 lakhs. The registration for all the events has started. In fact, the first round of almost all the events which is an online quiz will be completed before the end of January, 2016.

As earlier said, there is a buzz about this event among the students but the best part is there is only one opinion about it. There is no room for the critics. Critics are helpful if they are outsiders otherwise discouraging. So, the students of VGSoM always compliment and encourage each other for the betterment of Purvodaya. Not only the students but the faculties too are very much helpful all the time and give their insights to make a better decision. Everyone is a contributor to this event in one way or the other.

All of us here at VGSoM are optimistic and confident too that Purvodaya’16 will be big hit.
