The ICC world cup has reached its business end with the top teams making the line up for the quarter finals. First of the quarter final is scheduled to be played between Sri Lanka and South Africa at the Sydney cricket ground on Wednesday. Sri Lanka who have scored umpteen number of runs, thanks to their legendary batsman Kumar Sangakkara who has created a world record by scoring four consecutive centuries in ODI’s. South Africa on the other hand has had a mixed tournament having lost to India and Pakistan. They rely heavily on their charismatic cricketers AB De Villiers and Hashim Amla to deliver with bat and Dale Steyn with the bowl. India faces a stiff competition from a united and high on confidence Bangladeshis. The match of the quarter’s stage is though Australia against Pakistan as Pakistan is one of the most unpredictable sides of the tournament. New Zealand faces West Indies in Wellington and so have an upper hand in this tie. All in all it seems to be one great cricketing week ahead to look forward to. May the best ones reach the semifinals.
